The inaugural Prairie View A&M Foundation Gala, held at the Hilton Americas Hotel, honored the organization’s mantra “Growing Greatness through Giving” by raising funds for all areas of academic and student achievement at PVAMU. Foundation chairman Roy Perry and Mistress of Ceremony Melanie Lawson (ABC13) welcomed the packed house that received inspirational words from Elaine Mendoza (Texas A&M Board of Regents), John Sharp (Chancellor, TAMU System) and Ruth Simmons (PVAMU President). Attendees included Carolyn Williams, Betty Sinegal, Bishop D. Kimathi Nelson, Nailah Nelson, Joyce Johnson, Edward Sinegal, Ursula Dorsey, Katherine Berry, Dr. Deland Myers, Evie Myers and many others.
