The NAACP Houston Branch hosted its quarterly community gathering, Let’s Talk NAACP. This quarter’s event featured the national NAACP president Derrick Wilson, NAACP Houston Branch president Dr. James Douglas, NAACP Texas president Gary Bledsoe, and MC Chauncey Glover. Voter suppression, immigration reform, the current toxic political climate, police brutality and much more were discussed by the packed house at Emancipation Park. Attendees included Yolanda Smith, Twila Dotson, Alane Lillie, Sherry Browning, Paris Eley, Laurie Vignaud, Latoya Sadler, Rev. Reginald Lillie, Cynthia Cisneros, Dasean Jones, Carmen Watkins, Carl Davis, Dr. Carolyn Jones Shabazz and many others.
