The city’s Afro Culture Weekend 2018 featured Houston Rockets player Luc Mbah A Moute’s Charity Soccer Game helping youth locally and in Moute’s home country of Cameroon. Players consisted of some of the most legendary soccer players in the world, NBA players, Olympics Nigerian Bobsled Team member Seun Adigun, and local celebrities. Attendees included event organizer Nathan Kouamou, U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, Mayor Sylvester Turner, Trae tha Truth, Councilmember Amanda Edwards, Keisha Nicole (97.9 the Box), Judith Miller, Nerissa Lawford, Ngum Suh, Mazda Denon, Omar Orozi and many more.
