The Pearls Book Club sponsored a Pearls Girls event geared to empower females of all ages, especially through the arts and reading. Playwright Walker Smith was on hand to take part in the fun, games and uplifting conversations that helped make the event a success. The Pearls Book Club seeks to empower women through discussions, fellowship and community service. Coordinators Geynille Agee, Elandis Cashe and Carolyn Murry welcomed a sleuth of eager attendees including Sylvia Bradshaw, Maia Shelby, Vanessa Williams, Malaika Murry, Kennedy Shelby, Terri Dickerson, Niya Allen, and several others.
