Young ladies of color ranging in ages from 12 to 18 participated in the Queendom Day Camp, organized by Aisha Freeman, founder of the local nonprofit Queendom. The camp focused on diverse topics pertaining to self-assurance, self-worth, public health and more qualities related to becoming a true Queen. Queendom (the non-profit) strives to promote self-esteem, healthy living and empowerment among young girls and adult women, striving daily to uplift and educate through outreach, community development and education. Attendees included Courtlynn Williamson, Nadiyah Beasley, Tayzah Dews, Zhariah Davis, Dazanai Crooms, Yocelyn Juarez, Arnee Crooms, Zhion Davis and others.
