The Inaugural Cracker Barrel Sista Strut 3K Breast Cancer Walk, held at Memorial Park, was an overwhelming success heightening public awareness about the issues of breast cancer in women of color, and providing information on community resources. Studies show that Black women are more likely to get breast cancer at a younger age and have a death rate from breast cancer twice that of Caucasian women of the same age. Event organizer Anna Coppotelli welcomed supporters and attendees alike including Carla Ferrell (Steve Harvey Morning Show), Candace Price (iHeart Radio), Lady BG (104.5 Kiss FM), Kim Roxie (The Rose), Dana Tyson (Sunny 99.1 FM), Tarshia Boutte, Veronica Simmons, Rachelle Compton, Taylar Byrd, Jasmin Brooks, Stacie Morris, Ashley Small and countless others.
