KTSU 90.9 FM hosted a sneak peek viewing of filmmaker Stanley Nelson Jr.’s “Tell Them We Are Rising,” a film celebrating the legacy of HBCUs. Though held on TSU’s campus, all HBCUs were honored, with several represented by alumni on hand to see the documentary that will air on PBS on February 19. The Ocean of Soul’s drumline set things off before the viewing, which was followed by a Q&A session. Attendees included emcee Melinda Spaulding, TSU President Austin Lane, Marcus Davis, Corbin Burton, Ernest Walker, John Hughes, Dr. Serbina Sandifer-Walker, Dr. Frankie Patterson, George Thomas, Pastor James Dixon, Karen Celestan, Chris Spellmon, Isoke Williams and others.
