The UNCF A Mind Is… Gala, the highlight of the UNCF Houston’s annual fundraising efforts, was held recently at the Hilton Americas Hotel. One of Houston’s signature and premier social events, the gala garnered support from corporate leadership, dignitaries, civic leaders, public officials, alumni and others who support the UNCF mission of supporting and graduating HBCU students. Michael Lomax, national head of UNCF, was on hand, along with the gala’s honorary chair Melanie Gray, and chairs Elijah and Diana Wandix-White, to celebrate the evening’s honorees U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee and Tarrynce Robinson and enjoy the event entertainment, Zapp. A sampling attendees includes emcee Khambrel Marshall, Dr. Antonio Tillis, Cheryle Robinson, Lynda House-McPeters, Jeff Shaw, Juana Collins, Dorinda Adams and Eric Adams.
