Walker’s Legacy hosted its annual Power 25 Awards Reception honoring local women trailblazers who have strived to improve their business communities. Besides Houston, receptions have been held in Los Angeles, Detroit, Chicago and Atlanta. The culminating Power 50 National Awards Reception will take place in New York. Walker’s Legacy is a growing global women in business collective founded to establish networks of empowerment and access for women of color in business. WL reps Vanessa Wade and Rachel Hampton welcomed honorees including Defender Editor ReShonda Tate Billingsley, Defender CEO Sonny Messiah Jiles, Christina Payne, Misty Starks, CleRenda McGrady, Karen Carter Richards, Ashley Small, Maria Rios, Pamela Ellis, Crystal Handott and more. Additional attendees included Miss Black Houston Symone Pellerin, Tiffany A. Washington, Jaimi Canady, Trey Payne and others.
