Author Terry McMillan, best known for “Waiting to Exhale,” “A Day Late and a Dollar Short,” “How Stella Got Her Groove Back” and many other bestselling novels, will be in Houston as part of the Houston Public Library’s Winter Reading Series presentation.
The event will take place at the Alley Theatre, 615 Texas Avenue, on Monday, Feb. 6, at 7:30 p.m. McMillan will discussing her latest novel, “Almost Forgot About You,” which is described as a bold, inspiring story of second chances and next chapters.
Readers will see McMillan’s signature charm, acerbic wit, and spot-on depictions of modern life and culture on full display, and her lead character, Dr. Georgia Young, could soon find her place among McMillan’s best-loved.
When Dr. Young decides to make some major changes in her life, quitting her job as an optometrist, and moving her house, she finds herself on a wild journey that may or may not include a second chance at love.
Seating for the event is limited. Reserved seating is required. To make reservations now visit www.houstonlibrary.org/hplq. The event is free and open to the public.
