During Good Friday service, the Rev. Terry K. Anderson of Lilly Grove Missionary Baptist Church said that he and other black pastors support the Rev. Kirbyjon Caldwell despite securities fraud charges this week.

“We stand with our own,” Anderson said ahead of delivering his sermon.

“On behalf of African-American churches … we stand with our own. Just like white folks stand with their own, I think black folk ought to stand with their own,” Anderson said to applause. “He has our full support. He has the full support of Wheeler Avenue and Lilly Grove … Pastor Anderson and Pastor Cosby.”

Anderson’s declaration is being echoed by members across the city.
