The Houston Parks and Recreation Department recently celebrated the grand opening of the Lansdale Park Sprayground on Saturday, March 11, 2017.

The scope of work for the new Lansdale Park sprayground includes: a new splash pad with associated water service and drainage, sidewalks, lights, landscape, irrigation, grading, and site furnishings.

Lansdale Park was acquired in 1960 from the Sharpstown Realty Company as part of a deal that included 3.59 acres that would become E.L. Crain Park. Lansdale Park is named for John Lansdale, a member of the recreation committee of the Parks and Recreation Association, who was known for championing constructive activities for children.
