October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month and to help promote early detection and prevention, medical professionals at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth have teamed up to offer free cervical and breast cancer exams to uninsured and underinsured women in the Sunnyside community. Sunnyside, an area just south of downtown Houston, was identified in government surveys as one that is underserved. Last year, up to 150 patients were screened and received same-day test results.
