Kedria Grisby, a 42-year-old cosmetology teacher at Klein Cain High School, and her son Roger Magee were arrested on charges of child sex trafficking and compelling prostitution.

A shocking case of alleged sex trafficking has rocked a Texas high school community. Kedria Grisby, a 42-year-old cosmetology teacher at Klein Cain High School, and her 22-year-old son Roger Magee were arrested on charges of child sex trafficking and compelling prostitution.

According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, the mother-son duo is accused of recruiting students, including reported runaways, to work as prostitutes. Court records state that as part of their recruitment efforts, Grisby allegedly offered the teenagers a hotel room to live in.

The Klein Independent School District swiftly responded by placing Grisby on administrative leave and vowing to bar her from returning to the high school or district. In a letter to families, the district condemned any behavior harming children as “deplorable” and assured full cooperation with law enforcement.

In a statement from the school district officials alerted families of students at Klein Cain High School about the situation.

“We are writing to inform you of a situation the Harris County Sheriff’s Office just notified us of, which we have immediately addressed,” the letter to families read. “Law enforcement notified us that cosmetology teacher Kedria Grigsby was taken into custody for felony charges of sex trafficking and compelling prostitution. As soon as we were notified of this information, the district took immediate action, apprehended, and immediately placed Ms. Grigsby on administrative leave.”

The district continued by saying it has no intention of allowing Grisby back to the high school or school district.

“Let us be clear: any behavior harming children is deplorable, and we will always fully cooperate with our many law enforcement partners to ensure anyone engaging in such acts is brought to justice,” the letter read. “We understand that this news is unsettling. Rest assured, we are committed to dealing with this situation transparently. Our utmost priority is the safety of our students.”

While Magee was arrested in November 2022 and remains jailed, Grisby was released on a $750,000 bond. Her release conditions prohibit her from contacting witnesses and having unsupervised interactions with minors.

This disturbing case has undoubtedly caused unease in the community, but authorities are working to ensure those responsible for these alleged heinous crimes face justice.
