Actress Gabourey Sidibe and her husband Brandon Frankel recently announced they are expecting twins.
They shared the news on Instagram on Tuesday with photos of Frankel cradling Sidibe’s baby bump. The post was in collaboration with the baby registry company Babylist.
“I’m pregnant! We thought it was time to give our cats some responsibility, so we’re giving them each a baby to take care of!” the 39-year-old actress wrote in her caption. “Double the babies, double the cats, double the fun!! Twin Delivery coming soon! Twinty Twinty Four!!”
In the caption, Sidibe joked about giving their cats responsibility by giving each one a baby. She said “Double the babies, double the cats, double the fun!!”
In a separate Babylist video, the couple revealed they had originally planned for one baby but got two. Sidibe has still been active during her pregnancy, even attending two Beyoncé concerts with the babies in utero.
Sidibe and Frankel got engaged in 2020 after meeting on a dating app. Although they announced their engagement publicly, they secretly married just 4 months later at their kitchen table.
Sidibe only recently revealed their quiet marriage during a talk show appearance. When they got engaged, Sidibe wrote that their hearts and intentions were clear, though people thought they were already married.
“My BFF proposed, and now I get to hold him forever,” she added. “Every moment with him is a joy. He is the partner I thought I was too independent to need. I’ve learned so much about myself through him, and I feel grateful and excited to learn more about the entire world with him by my side. My partner, my best friend, my cats’ daddy, my mans, my heart, my fiancé!!”
