Amber Bonner Mackey, a 28-yr-old who has been battling Lupus since she was seven years-old, organized Purple Out for Lupus, a gathering of family, friends and supporters to raise funds to help find a cure for the disease. The event featured performances by Erikah Nocturnal, Tobe Nwigwe, and Shan the Poet along with small bites from Reggae Hut. The group expressed their gratitude to Marcus Davis for hosting the event at the Alley Kat. Others in attendance were Lawrence Battle, Lynden Rose, Marilyn Rose, Mary Prince, Jarred Morgan, Phillip J. Yates, Travis Bryant, Renee Richardson, Berekat Worku, Nikki Harrison and Craig Harrison.
