Rapper Nicki Minaj has alleged that she was briefly placed under arrest at an airport in Amsterdam on May 25th, accusing authorities of attempting to “sabotage” her ongoing Pink Friday 2 Tour.
According to Minaj’s own social media posts, she was stopped by officials prior to a flight to Manchester, England after marijuana pre-rolls were allegedly found in her luggage during a security screening.
The 41-year-old took to Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) to livestream portions of the airport encounter, claiming the incident was part of an illegal attempt to derail the remaining shows on her tour.
“They’ve been trying to stop me from coming to every show,” wrote Minaj, who was released after a brief detainment. “They took my bags before I could see them. Put it on the plane. Now saying they’re waiting on customs. This is what it looks like when ppl are paid big money to try to sabotage a tour.”
Footage appeared to show authorities attempting to take Minaj into custody for “carrying drugs” before she eventually entered a police vehicle, insisting she needed a lawyer present.
“I told y’all they was gonna try to stall for about four to five hours because it’s all about trying to make me late to my show,” Minaj stated while livestreaming from the police van.
The rapper alleged the pre-rolls belonged to her security team, accusing officials of potentially “planting” the marijuana in her luggage. She claimed the incident delayed her flight by two hours.
While the full details remain unconfirmed, Minaj’s posts paint a picture of perceived foul play aimed at disrupting her ongoing European concert run, which she says was motivated by recently fired management.
Her allegations have not been independently verified as of this rewriting. Official statements from Minaj’s representatives or Dutch authorities have not been issued regarding any arrest or tour sabotage claims.
