Seven Black women have made significant contributions to humanity over the past two centuries, including Ella Baker, Callie Guy House, Mary Ellen Pleasant, Josephine Baker, Dr. Mae Jemison, Wangari Maathai, and Shirley Chisholm, who became the first Black woman to be elected to Congress in 1968.
