Councilmember Amanda Edwards hosted the Be the Solution Youth & Family Immigration Townhall to provide the latest information on immigration policies including Texas Senate Bill 4. Wisdom High School was the site for the event that featured a panel of experts including immigration lawyer Jose Perez Jr., HPD Chief Art Acevedo, Juliet Stipeche and activists Norma Torres Mendoza, Joy Alessi and Jill Campbell (Baker Ripley). Edwards and Cynthia Cisneros (ABC13) served as moderators of the lively and informative discussion. The diverse crowd hailed from Africa, Asia, Central and South America, the Caribbean and the Middle East. Attendees included Oscar Hernandez, Courtney White, Diana Chahrour, Antonio Duarte, Kim Topps, Marsha Penn, Candice Young, Christina Allen-Crowder and others.
