The nation of Haiti, home to the first successful overthrown of slavery in the western hemisphere, has experienced a horrendous array of “storms” recently, including a presidential assassination, devastating earthquake and Tropical Storm Grace. Yet, instead of the usual scorn Haiti receives from the US and its euro-allies, Haiti and its people–our people–need and deserve our support.
